This is the first image of
curled clay that I took. I was camped outside the southeast corner
of Canyonlands National Park.A
small puddle had dried up, producing the most tightly curled clay
that I had ever seen. In the dying eavening light, I quicly set
up my 4x5 camera and exposed a couple pieces of film to capture
this image. These curls have evoked the image of tree bark, or
sometimes even the bark of a cinnamon tree.
