I love the geology
of the Grand Staircase
Escalante National Monument. One of my special, secret spots
for camping has some wonderful white and pink sandstone formations.
Utilizing the blue color imparted to film after sunset, I took this
series of shots of a banded sandstone formation with this interesting
erosion pattern and lichen to come up with this particular color
palate. I took these photos in March 2004. These three images can
make a wonderful triptych. |
