I love the geology
of the Grand Staircase
Escalante National Monument. The lichen that colonize the golden
sanstone in the Grand Staircase can achieve quite a large size.
The photos illustrate the fantastic forms and shapes created by
these lichen. I took this photo in March 2004. This particular image
reminds me of a butterfly. |
