Saguaro CU 9 - USE CODE "CNAB49" FOR ORDERING

The Saguaro cactus, Carnegiea gigantea, is found in Arizona and the Northern Mexico state of Sonora. This is the largest cactus species found in the United States of America, and can grow to over 50' high, weigh more than 10 tons and live 200 years. This photo is of the dead skin of one such saguaro I found while hiking around the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge in January 2006. I really enjoyed the coloration and the bizarre scarring. This also comes as part of my saguaro cycle of life triptych.
