The gypsum sands of White
Sand Dunes National Monument in south-central New Mexico creates
a magical place to spend a night or two. Over Thankgiving weekend
in 2004, I enjoyed the winter weather that coated Salinas Peak
of the San Andres Mountains with snow (and myself with rain).
During the dawn, the dunes reflect blue light while the sky turns
pink and orange. along with the blue clouds, one is left with
a scene that can almost be described as a duo-tone
